PESHAWAR: Director General (DG) of Rescue 1122, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Shah Fahd, paid a heartfelt tribute to the brave firefighters who risk their lives to protect communities from fires and other emergencies. on the occasion of International Firefighters’ Day.
In a statement, the Director General praised the dedication and courage of firefighters, calling them heroes not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but around the world. Firefighters are known and considered heroes globally for their selfless service. They always rush towards the danger while others run away from the heat and flames,” said DG King Fahd.
Since its inception, Rescue 1122 has responded to over 40,000 fire-related incidents across the province. The organisation has become a critical component in firefighting efforts, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to handle various emergencies efficiently.
Rescue 1122 also offers comprehensive educational and practical training programs on fire prevention, management, and extinguishing. These programs aim to enhance the community’s awareness of fire safety and ensure that local authorities are well-prepared to respond to emergencies.
Firefighters continue to play a vital role in safeguarding lives and property, and on this special day, the contributions of these unsung heroes were rightfully celebrated.
