PESHAWAR: The Workers Welfare Board of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has released its annual performance report, highlighting that 17 workers from various industries in KP will perform Hajj at no cost this year, with the government covering the Rs18.79 million expense.
The report also outlines significant financial support provided over the past year, including Rs627.5 million for the higher education of 1,578 workers’ children, Rs131 million for 341 marriage grants, and Rs30 million for 44 death grants for labourers.
Additionally, the report reveals that 21,587 students were enrolled in Working Folks Grammar Schools for the 2024-25 academic year. Over Rs191.7 million was allocated for books, uniforms, and transport.
The board also reported a 94% pass rate in the matriculation exams, with 1,141 out of 1,220 students succeeding, and 445 out of 464 students passing the Inter exams.
