Two terrorists of the Fitna-ul-Khwarij were injured in Swat police and counter counter-terrorism department joint operation on Sunday.
According to reports, on the orders of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, decisive action has been initiated against the extremist group Fitna-ul-Khawarij. Regional and district police officers across the province have been instructed to remain vigilant and monitor the movements of extremists using human intelligence and other sources. This led to advanced information about the infiltration of Fitna-ul-Khawarij into the Swat district through Dir.
Acting on intelligence received, Regional Police Officer Malakand Division Sher Akbar Khan organised teams from the District Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), operating under the supervision of District Police Officer Swat Muhammad Umar Khan. These teams conducted ambushes in various locations throughout the difficult mountainous terrain of Tehsil Matta in Swat. During the operation, Swat Police and CTD personnel encountered Fitna-ul-Khawarij in the hills of Tehsil Matta, near Police Station Gwaliri Jargo. The officers displayed remarkable bravery, resulting in the injury of two members of Fitna-ul-Khawarij. The remaining terrorists escaped with their injured comrades, prompting a joint search operation by Swat Police, Elite Force, and the CTD in the area.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed has praised the Swat Police and the CTD for their efforts against Fitna-ul-Khawarij. He emphasised that there is no place for these terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and affirmed that they will be pursued relentlessly until the community is free from their threats.

Two individuals were shot dead on Tuesday in an incident described as an “honour killing” in the Barikot tehsil of Swat district, according to police reports.
The incident took place in the Najigram area, where a young man from Maniyar entered a house. The head of the household noticed him and opened fire, killing the young man instantly. During the shooting, the homeowner’s brother was also critically injured and later died at the hospital.
Police have filed a case and launched an investigation into the matter. According to residents, the deceased was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with a woman from the household.
Honour killings have been reported in various regions of Pakistan and have consistently been condemned by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
