20 terrorists arrested for attack on aid convoy in Kurram

KURRAM: Police and security forces carried out joint search operations in various areas of the restive lower Kurram and arrested 20 terrorists including facilitators. They were arrested in connection of recent attacks on aid convoy in the region in which 9 people including security personnel and truck drivers were killed.

The KP government ordered crackdown against terrorists and their facilitators and also fixed heady money for those involved in fueling the conflict.

As per details, the joint search operation was conducted large-scale operation of police and security forces in Bagan, Ochat, Mandori, Dad Kamar, other adjoining areas of Lower Kurram.

Regional Police Officer Kohat Abbas Majeed Marwa personally led the search operation.

The reports say that of these 20, 18 were terrorists and two were facilitators.

Abbas Majeed Marwat said that an operation is underway against those who attacked a convoy going to Kurram and looted and burned food items in Bagan and Mandori and other areas of Lower Kurram.

He said that raids are being conducted in Kurram, Hangu and Kohat to arrest the terrorists whose heads have been set by the provincial government.

This week, the terrorists had also targeted the aid convoy and then security forces moving for rescue operation.

KP govt fixes head money of 14 terrorists in Kurram

Earlier, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has fixed head money of 14 terrorists in the restive Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According the notification of the home department, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has notified head money for 14 terrorists estimated at Rs 130 million.

As per notification, the price for the head of terrorist Kazim has been set at Rs 30 million, while the price for the rest of terrorists has been fixed at Rs 1 million to Rs 10 million each.

The government said that names of those providing information will be kept confidential.

Kazim is the commander of the banned outlet Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) involved in terror attacks inside Pakistan on security forces and public.

The price on the head of Commander Kazim, who hails from Began village in Kurram district, has been set at 10 times more than that of the TTP Chief Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud, Khalid Khorasani and Shahid Umar.
