LAHORE: A final decision on the resumption of the Pakistan Super League’s tenth edition (PSL X) is expected within the next 48 hours, sources confirmed on Sunday.
According to insiders, the remaining eight matches are likely to take place in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Despite prevailing economic challenges, officials are determined to ensure the completion of PSL X.
Sources further revealed that if certain franchises are unable to field foreign players, the tournament will move forward with local talent. Talks with overseas players are ongoing and expected to continue in the coming days.
On Saturday, reports surfaced that PSL management was actively exploring options to reignite cricketing excitement following Pakistan’s recent triumph over India. Franchise owners were contacted, and Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer directed teams to remain on standby.
“All necessary preparations are underway. I will share full details soon — but PSL will resume,” Naseer assured.
The tournament had been postponed the previous day amid regional tensions, with all foreign players and staff affected. Players were airlifted to Dubai via Pakistan Armed Forces aircraft for safety.
