ISLAMABAD: The Anti-terrorism court extended the interim bail of the Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan and Azam Swati in November 26 protest case until June 04, 2025 on Monday.
The Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi has extended the interim bail of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan and PTI senior leader Senator Azam Swati until June 04 during the hearing of the cases registered related to the November 26 protest. Both leaders appeared in the court during the hearing, where their lawyers took the position that baseless allegations have been made in the cases and no solid evidence has come to light during the investigation. The court decided to extend the interim bail after hearing the arguments of the parties.
It should be noted that cases were registered against the PTI leadership under terrorism and other provisions following protests and alleged riots in various cities during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protest demonstration on November 26. PTI leaders maintain that these cases are part of political vendetta, while the court has adjourned the case proceedings, granting further relief to both leaders until the next hearing.
