ISLAMABAD :Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praised Pakistani media for its pivotal role in the recent conflict with India during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, where he was conferred with the honorary Baton of Field Marshal by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Addressing senior journalists, Munir stated, “The media is our pride. You fought this war alongside us and showed the world we stand for truth.” The event was attended by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, federal cabinet members, and military chiefs.
In closed-door discussions, top military officials drew parallels between Pakistan’s victory and the Battle of Badr, where 313 Muslims triumphed against overwhelming odds. They credited divine intervention, stating, *”Allah’s help was with us—we struck the enemy so decisively that they sought a ceasefire through mediators.
