QUETTA: The death toll from the Khuzdar school bus attack rose to eight on Sunday, as two more students—Sheema Ibrahim and Muskan—succumbed to their injuries, according to security sources.
Authorities confirmed that a total of eight students, including seven girls and one boy, have been martyred in the tragic terrorist attack. On the day of the incident, Sania Soomro (Grade 6), Hifza Kausar (Grade 7), and Aisha Saleem (Grade 10) lost their lives. Later, students Haider, Malaika, and Sahar Saleem also passed away during treatment.
Security officials stated that the attack was orchestrated from across the border. “This heinous act of terrorism was planned in the terrorist state of India. The blood of these innocent children will not go unavenged,” the statement read.
In a joint press conference, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif and the Interior Secretary presented evidence of Indian involvement in terrorist activities within Balochistan.
Officials said India has long been engaged in destabilizing Pakistan by supporting proxy groups, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Khuzdar bus attack, they added, is another example of India’s ongoing efforts to create unrest in the country.
