Barrister Gohar hints possible release of Imran Khan before Eid-ul-Adha

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has expressed hope that PTI founder Imran Khan will be released before Eid.

 

Talking to the media, Barrister Gohar said that it is absolutely permissible for party workers to raise questions regarding Imran Khan’s release and PTI leadership value their feelings, however, all workers are requested to control their emotions because we are making every possible legal and political effort.

 

He said that the two-year imprisonment of the PTI founder was incomprehensible, no one can imagine why a leader like Imran Khan spent so much time in jail. We have held sit-ins, protested and also raised our voice at the forum of Parliament for his release.

 

The PTI Chairman said that Imran Khan is a honest and, he seeks help from God at every moment and we are also hopeful that God Almighty will definitely find a way. He added that they hope that the case will be fixed soon and the decisions will be on merit.

The verdict was postponed due to the absence of accused Zaryab, the court has now announced to pronounce the verdict on May 29.

 

Meanwhile, Important court proceedings were held today in various cases registered against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and other central leaders, including the hearings in the Toshakhana II case and the May nine incidents in the anti-terrorism courts. However, the hearings in most of the cases were postponed due to various reasons.

 

The hearing of the Toshakhana II case in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail was held today by Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand. On this occasion, the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi were presented in the courtroom. The defence and prosecution teams participating in the case were also present in the court.

 

The defence lawyers completed their cross-examination of the sixth witness in the case, Qaiser Mahmood. The court will fix the next hearing date of the case later.The case related to the attack on Ramna police station was heard by Judge Tahir Abbas Supra in the Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad.

However, the verdict was postponed due to the absence of the accused Zaryab. The court has now announced to pronounce the verdict on May 29.

According to sources, hearings in other cases have also been postponed for various reasons, due to which some legal matters have been delayed.

 

On this occasion Barrister Gohar stressed that the party workers have been showing patience and tolerance for two years and now they were tired, therefore it is important that the cases of the founder of PTI be scheduled for hearing soon and the demands of justice be fulfilled.
