Prime Minister PM Shahbaz Sharif met with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and extended an invitation for him to visit Pakistan soon. During the meeting, Shahbaz praised Khamenei as a respected leader in the Muslim world, stating that the Muslim Ummah looks up to him for guidance.
The Prime Minister briefed the Supreme Leader on Pakistan’s recent tensions with India and thanked Iran for its support against Indian aggression. He emphasized Pakistan’s desire for regional peace, economic growth, and prosperity.
Shahbaz also highlighted steps taken to improve Pakistan-Iran relations and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to deepening strategic cooperation. He commended Iran’s handling of nuclear negotiations with the US, expressing hope for a peaceful resolution that benefits the region.
The Prime Minister noted Khamenei’s admiration for Allama Iqbal’s poetry and thoughts, further strengthening cultural ties. In response, the Supreme Leader praised Shahbaz’s efforts for regional stability and his dedication to enhancing Pakistan-Iran relations. He also prayed for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
The meeting underscored both nations’ commitment to closer cooperation and mutual support on key regional issues.
