CM Gandapur in hot water as PPP KP president plans FIR

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, seemed to be in hot water as the PPP president announced to lodge an FIR against him for thrashing their workers on Monday in the Peshawar protest.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) president for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chapter, Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha, has said that they have decided to lodge a first information report (FIR) against the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur for ordering to thrash their workers on May 26 protest in Peshawar.

The PPP provincial leader was addressing a news conference in the party secretariat in Peshawar on Tuesday.

Mr Bacha said they won’t sit silent over massive corruption scandals surfacing in the different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“Should we remain silent about the massive Rs 40 billion corruption in Kohistan? Should we overlook the corruption case in the Mardan solarisation project? We have decided to strengthen our movement against the increasing corruption in the province,” said the PPP KP chief.

He emphasised that he strongly condemned the PTI government’s action against the peaceful protesters of PTI yesterday, on May 26.

“I would request the KP police, they are our brothers, not to be involved in these illegal actions, it is injustice and against the constitution to fire teargas at protesters and lodge illegitimate FIRs against our workers, leaders,” The PPP leader said.

Mr Bacha said PPP had decided to register an FIR against the CM Ali Amin Gandapur for ordering police to thrash their workers for which they called their legal team.
