14 items more expensive, 10 cheaper in weekly price check

Food and Electricity Prices Drive Pakistan’s Inflation to 59-Year Low

ISLAMABAD:The weekly inflation rate in the country decreased by 0.81 percent, bringing the annual inflation rate down to 0.41 percent. According to the statistics office, out of 51 monitored items, 14 became more expensive, 10 saw price drops, and 27 items—including bread, mutton, fresh milk, and curd—remained stable in price.

Price Increases
Tomatoes rose by Rs 2.30 per kg, potatoes by Rs 1.82 per kg, and eggs by Rs 6.84 per dozen. Onions increased by 95 paise per kg, while bananas became costlier by 66 paise per dozen. Other items that saw price hikes included jaggery, mustard oil, cigarettes, dal mash, and gram.

Price Drops
Broiler chicken prices fell by Rs 39.69 per kg, and domestic LPG cylinders became cheaper by Rs 84.35. Sugar prices decreased by 44 paise per kg. Other items that saw reductions included electricity, dry milk, ghee, wheat flour, and garlic.
