Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that every drop of water is the right of the people of Pakistan, India is threatening to stop Pakistan’s water, but it has seen the results of the threats of war and if it stops the water, the enemy will also see the end of it.
On Tuesday, an important tribal jirga was held to discuss the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, along with other political and military leaders and tribal elders, are participating.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that participating in the jirga is a matter of honour for me, and we have all come to listen to your words with great attention.
The Prime Minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a great and beautiful province of Pakistan whose people are brave, proud and honourable people. The people here have always defended Pakistan and whenever it came to Pakistan, they raised the national flag. The sacrifices of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be written in golden letters.
Shahbaz Sharif said that after the APS tragedy, important decisions were taken seriously.
He said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that it has been 15 years since the NFC award, there should be a review, on which he had directed to formation a committee related to the award The Chief Minister said that names have been sent to represent the province.
He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is on the front line in the war against terrorism. More than 700 billion funds were given to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during different periods, while incidents of terrorism continued to occur in Balochistan during that time. He will form a committee for KP-related matters and will sit down immediately. He will look into the issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seriously and take matters forward in consultation with all stakeholders.
The Prime Minister said that the prayers of the people were included in Pakistan’s war with India. The nation prayed for the security of Pakistan’s forces and the country. At 2:30 am, the Field Marshal told me that India had attacked and under his leadership, the Pakistani forces taught the enemy a lesson.
Shahbaz Sharif said that just as Allah has given a great victory in the war, he will also give victory in the economic field.
He further said that he recently visited 4 countries and the joy of Pakistan’s victory was evident on their faces.
Addressing the jirga, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said that despite being unjustly imprisoned in jail, Imran Khan united the entire nation against Indian aggression. Imran Khan proved that he is a leader by uniting the entire nation against the cowardly enemy. I thank Imran Khan and his supporters for their full support for the defence of Pakistan.
He said that we are one for the defense and integrity of the country, and have shown unity by putting aside political differences.
The Chief Minister demanded that the federal government refrain from imposing taxes on the former FATA and PATA, as the financial situation of the people of these areas is not capable of paying taxes.
The Chief Minister said that the merged districts have been badly affected in the war against terrorism, and there is a need for significant investment in these areas. The people of the merged districts have made countless sacrifices for the country, all the promises made to them should be fulfilled. The federal government should release the compensation money for the homeless people of the merged districts as soon as possible.
He said that drone attacks should be stopped in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as they also cause a lot of harm to innocent people. An immediate announcement should be made to transfer the share of the districts merged in NFC to the province.
He said that we are not asking for the rights of any other province, but we should be given our rights. The promise made regarding NFC should be fulfilled immediately.
The Chief Minister said that the federal government should pay all the arrears of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on its own responsibility; this is our legitimate right. The federal government should also pay the arrears of the province’s net profit from hydroelectric power. The province’s full share in the tobacco cess should be given, this is the right of the people of the province.
The Chief Minister demanded that the jirga system be restored for a sustainable solution to disputes in the merged districts. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be included in the negotiation process with the neighbouring country, Afghanistan.
