Former senator, three injured in gas leak explosion in Kohat

Three people, including former Senator Abbas Afridi, were injured in an explosion caused by a gas leak in his room in the Babri Banda area of Kohat. According to Kohat Police Spokesperson Noman, the explosion occurred in the evening due to the gas leak and was so powerful that it caused the wall of the building to collapse. Former Senator Abbas Afridi was taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Kohat in critical condition, while the other two injured individuals were sent to the Divisional Headquarters Hospital. The police spokesperson stated that the bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene, and evidence is currently being collected.

Anti-Corruption Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has registered a case against two police officers, including the superintendent of police (SP), after detecting large-scale financial irregularities in the fuel funds of the Police Training School Kohat.
During the inquiry, it was revealed that the government treasury was damaged by fake documents and bogus fuel bills at the Police Training School, Kohat.
A case has been registered against the school’s director, SP Muhammad Ibrahim Azhar Paracha and Sub-Inspector Zahoor for alleged corruption.
According to anti-corruption officials, both officers allegedly misused government funds in collusion, for which full legal action is being taken.
