PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tax revenue has witnessed a significant increase of 40% in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year compared to the previous year, according to Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam.
In a statement, Aslam also highlighted a more than 50% rise in non-tax revenues, attributing the gains to improved financial management by the provincial government. He assured that the concerns of taxpayers are being taken seriously and measures are being introduced to resolve them. “We are focusing on expanding the tax net and improving enforcement, not introducing new taxes,” he clarified. For the next fiscal year, the provincial government is aiming for another 40% increase in tax revenues. However, Aslam emphasised that the target will be met through better compliance and broader coverage, not by burdening the public with new levies.
The advisor reiterated that the province remains committed to financial discipline and efficient resource mobilization.
