ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs and areas of southern Lebanon, labelling them a clear violation of international law and Lebanese sovereignty.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Pakistani government described the attacks on the eve of Eid al-Adha as a “blatant breach” of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement.
“These attacks constitute a blatant violation of international law, the sovereignty of Lebanon, and the agreed ceasefire,” the Foreign Office said. “The reckless use of force threatens civilian lives, fuels regional instability, and undermines efforts toward lasting peace.”
Reaffirming its solidarity with Lebanon, the statement underscored Pakistan’s support for the Lebanese government and people “during this difficult time.”
Islamabad urged the international community, particularly the United Nations and ceasefire mediators, to take swift action to hold Israel accountable and to prevent a further escalation of violence in the region.
“Pakistan remains firmly committed to peace, justice, and the principles of international law,” the statement concluded.
