ISLAMBAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended warm Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan and the global Muslim Ummah, emphasizing the values of sacrifice, compassion, unity, and brotherhood.
President Zardari, in his message, highlighted that Eid-ul-Azha rekindles the spirit of faith, devotion, selflessness, and fraternity. He urged the nation to draw inspiration from the unwavering sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and apply its lessons in everyday life. The President stressed the importance of standing by the underprivileged, noting that Eid is not only about ritual sacrifice but also about making a heartfelt commitment to support those in need. He called for national solidarity, encouraging citizens to share each other’s burdens and work together toward a prosperous and stronger Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, underlined that the essence of Eid-ul-Azha extends beyond animal sacrifice—it also calls for the surrender of personal egos, desires, and interests for greater causes. He said that as Pakistan continues on its journey toward progress and development, unity and selflessness are crucial. The Prime Minister added that true national strength is built not only through individual success but also through collective welfare.
He urged the nation to remember the oppressed people of Palestine, who are enduring extreme hardships, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their long-standing struggle for the right to self-determination.
On the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff, extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan.
They also paid rich tribute to the esteemed families of Shuhada-e-Pakistan, whose loved ones laid down their lives for the cause of peace and the defence of the nation.
