Three injured in gas cylinder explosion in Mardan

MARDAN: A tragic gas cylinder explosion in Mardan’s Aram Colony claimed six lives and injured two others after it caused the roof of a two-storey house to collapse.

According to rescue officials, the explosion triggered an immediate emergency response, with teams rushing to the site upon receiving the distress call. Deputy Commissioner Mardan Azmatullah Wazir, District Emergency Officer Syed Shoaib Mansoor, and Assistant Commissioner Junaid Khalid oversaw the rescue operation.

The victims include 36-year-old Fawad, son of Amjad, his wife, and their two children. Shah Fahad, 25, also son of Amjad, and 8-year-old Tooba, daughter of Jawad, were also among the deceased.

The injured, 5-year-old Ayesha, daughter of Fawad, and 5-year-old Dua, daughter of Jawad, were shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Over 100 Rescue 1122 personnel took part in the operation, which lasted seven hours and resulted in the successful recovery of all victims.
