BANNU: A tense situation unfolded during Eid-ul-Adha prayers on June 7th at the Jamia Masjid in Domail, Kam Chashmi, Tehsil Bannu, when a group identified as the Khawarij arrived at the mosque.
Their presence caused immediate disruption. Some worshippers left the ongoing prayers and moved to a larger nearby mosque. Although worshippers later returned, a heated verbal exchange occurred between them and the Khawarij group.
Faced with strong opposition and anger from the congregation, the Khawarij group was compelled to leave the area.
In response to the incident, the local Taos Khel tribe announced resistance against the group’s presence. Tribal elders have called a jirga (council meeting) for 5 pm today to decide on action against individuals within the village who allegedly facilitated the Khawarij group’s entry.
