PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session has been convened today at 2:00 PM, and it will be presided over by Speaker Babar Saleem Swati.
A detailed agenda for the session has been released, according to which Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will present several important bills in the House. As per the agenda, the Chief Minister will introduce the Prosecution Service Constitutional Functions and Powers Amendment Bill. Other key legislative items include the Charities Amendment Bill, the Legal Aid Bill, the Servants Housing Foundation Bill, and an Amendment Bill related to Ease of Doing Business.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister will also present a motion for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sentences Amendment Bill, which is expected to be taken up for immediate consideration and approval. Separate motions will also be introduced to review and approve the Amendment Bill for the Commission on the Status of Women, aimed at improving laws related to women’s rights.
In addition, the session is expected to include a discussion on the overall law and order situation in the province, focusing on recent security challenges and potential government measures to address them. Sources indicate that, alongside legislation, heated debates are expected between the opposition and the government on the current political and economic conditions.
