One dead as Mortar from Afghanistan hits Bajaur

Mortar from Afghanistan hits Bajaur

BAJAUR: A mortar shell fired from Afghanistan struck a remote village in Pakistan’s Bajaur district, killing one person and injuring two others.

The incident occurred in Tarano Batwar, a village in Tehsil Salarzai, where the shell landed in a civilian area. The deceased was identified as Gul Badshah, while two women sustained injuries.

This is not the first time Salarzai and other parts of Bajaur have come under fire from across the border. Afghan insurgents and Taliban border troops have been blamed for similar attacks in the past.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan Taliban government to prevent its territory from being used against Pakistan.
