KP approves Rs 8 Billion underpass project for Peshawar Ring Road

KP Govt Proposes Rs 8 Billion Underpasses on Peshawar Ring Road to Ease Traffic

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a new plan to build multiple underpasses on Peshawar Ring Road to tackle worsening traffic congestion in the city.

The project, estimated at Rs 8 billion, has been included in the upcoming fiscal year’s annual development program. Officials say the underpasses will be constructed at key high-traffic points to ensure smoother traffic flow and reduce delays for commuters.

An initial allocation of Rs 300 million has been proposed for feasibility studies, PC-1 preparation, and preliminary work. If approved, full-scale construction is expected to begin next year.

Authorities believe the underpasses will not only cut travel time but also help reduce accidents on the busy Ring Road. The government is pushing for early approval so work can start as soon as possible.
