Rescue 1122 controls fires near Abbottabad University, karla forest

ABBOTTABAD: Rescue 1122 teams in Abbottabad responded swiftly and efficiently to two separate fire incidents on Saturday, showcasing professionalism and commitment in containing the blazes.

The first incident occurred near Abbottabad University, where a fire broke out in dry grass. Thanks to the timely arrival and effective response of Rescue 1122, the fire was quickly brought under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas.

The second operation was more complex, as a fire erupted in the forested region of Karla. Rescue teams faced considerable challenges due to the rugged terrain and lack of vehicle access. Despite the difficult conditions, the teams launched immediate firefighting efforts and succeeded in controlling around 90 percent of the fire.

However, the remaining portion of the fire, located in a hard-to-reach area, posed continued difficulties, even for responders on foot. Two Rescue 1122 stations took part in the extensive operation.

A Rescue 1122 spokesperson confirmed that firefighting efforts are still underway to completely extinguish the blaze and safeguard the surrounding environment.
