Governments can’t function without JUI, says Fazlur Rehman

JUI-F wants clarity before any alliance with PTI

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has dismissed reports of a new political alliance in Pakistan, stating that no such alliance exists. He emphasized that governments cannot be formed or function without the JUI’s involvement.

Speaking to the media in Karachi alongside Senator Faisal Vawda, Fazlur Rehman stressed the importance of mutual respect in politics. He said the country currently needs unity and solidarity to overcome its challenges.

While acknowledging Pakistan’s problems, Fazlur Rehman affirmed that the JUI remains committed to standing with the people. He also recalled the nation’s unity during India’s aggression, calling it an exemplary moment in history.

Faisal Vawda praised Fazlur Rehman’s patriotism, crediting him for boosting morale during conflicts with India. Vawda hinted at future political moves, saying, “We have just swept the chessboard. With Maulana Sahib’s permission, we will place it on the table, and the game will begin.” He added that they would strategize on how to move forward and run the country effectively.

The leaders’ meeting has sparked speculation about potential political collaboration, though Fazlur Rehman firmly denied any immediate alliance plans.
