BAJAUR: A police personnel was killed in the Hayaty area of district Bajaur on Sunday late at night. Police have started an investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the policeman’s murder.
According to the police sources, Unknown armed men opened fire in the “Hayate” area under the limits of Atmankhel police station in Bajaur. According to sources, Constable Umar Muhammad was martyred on the spot as a result of the firing. Immediately after the incident, police and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started a search operation. So far, no information has been revealed about the reasons for the firing and the accused; however, the investigation is ongoing. The body of the martyred constable has been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.

The Bajaur police claimed on Sunday to have dismantled a car theft gang, recovering a stolen car and cash from their possession.
Significant action has been taken by the Loi Sim police station as they exposed a car theft gang. Two of the five gang members have been arrested, and Rs. 342,000 has been recovered from them out of the total value of the stolen vehicle, which is worth 1.3 million. Authorities expect to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover the outstanding amount shortly. An investigation is ongoing with the arrested individuals.
According to the details, on March 26, 2025, the police successfully apprehended the gang responsible for stealing a citizen’s Fielder car from Inayat Kala Bazaar. The operation followed a report filed by Sultan Yousuf, a resident of Dama Dola. Under the instructions of District Police Officer Bajaur, Waqas Rafique, Circle DSP Abdul Aziz, and SHO of Loi Sim Police Station, OII Islamuddin, were assigned to investigate the matter. They diligently worked day and night, employing modern scientific methods and technical resources, which led to the identification and capture of the suspects.
Today, two members of the five-member gang, Zia Islam and Nematullah, both from Dama Dola, were formally arrested and brought to justice. A total of Rs. 342,000 was recovered from them in connection with the vehicle valued at 1.3 million.
