KP government appoints four retired officers to Public Service Commission

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has appointed 4 retired officers as members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Establishment Department has issued a notification. The newly appointed members include a former ambassador, a retired chief engineer and 2 PCS officers. According to a separate notification issued in this regard, retired officer Muhammad Akbar Khan of Grade 21 of the PCS Secretariat Group has been appointed as a Member of the Public Service Commission for three years. Similarly, retired ambassador Muhammad Tariq has also been appointed as a Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission for three years. According to another notification, retired chief engineer Muhammad Yasin of Grade 20 has been appointed as Member of the Technical Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission. In addition, Ahmed Hassan of Grade 21 of the PCS Secretariat Group has been appointed as a Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission. According to the notification, all members will hold this responsibility for three years or until they reach the age of 65. According to the announcement, these appointments have been made under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission Ordinance 1978.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has increased traffic fines in the new fiscal year finance bill. For the first time, three-wheeled vehicles—such as rickshaws, chingchis, and loaders—have been included in this legislation. The minimum fine for three-wheeled vehicles is set at Rs 200, while the maximum can reach Rs 10,000.

A proposed fine of Rs 5,000 will be imposed for violating route permits for three-wheeled vehicles. Additionally, a double fine will be applied for repeat violations of these permits.

The schedule of fines in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget now also addresses fake driving licenses. A fine ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 10,000 has been proposed for individuals caught driving with a fake license. Furthermore, fines for underage drivers are expected to rise.

According to the new finance bill, the fine for motorcycle riders under the age of 18 has increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. Similarly, the penalty for driving a small vehicle has gone up from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000.
