Dir MPA slams budget cuts to motorway, university projects

MPA Obaid-ur-Rehman protests against budget neglect of Dir Motorway and University projects in Peshawar press conference.

PESHAWAR: Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Lower Dir, Obaid-ur-Rehman, has strongly condemned the insufficient budget allocations for key development projects in his constituency, calling it a grave injustice.

Speaking to Pakhtoon Digital, Rehman expressed frustration over the mere Rs. 100 million allocated for the Dir Motorway, stating the amount is far too low for such a crucial infrastructure project. He demanded increased funding to ensure timely and effective completion.

Additionally, he criticized the complete removal of the Dir University project from the budget, calling it a betrayal of the youth’s educational future. “Ignoring a backward region like Dir instead of developing it is unacceptable,” he said.

Rehman vowed to challenge the decision at all forums, asserting that he would fight for his constituents’ rights as their elected representative.
