ABBOTTABAD: The 31st National Men’s, 17th National Women’s, and 6th National Cadet & Junior Karate Championships 2025 concluded in Abbottabad, with Pakistan Army and WAPDA finishing as the top teams in their categories.
In the men’s events, the Pakistan Army dominated, winning the championship with 8 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa shared second place, each earning 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, while WAPDA finished third with 6 silver and 1 bronze.
In the women’s category, WAPDA performed the best, securing 6 gold and 4 silver medals, and lifting the winner’s trophy. Army came second with 2 gold and 3 silver, and Sindh claimed third with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.
In the cadet and junior championship, Army again led the way, winning 3 gold and 1 bronze, followed by WAPDA with 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze. Sindh came in third with 2 gold and 5 bronze medals.
The closing ceremony was held at the PT School, where Brigadier Zafar Mehmood Abbassi gave out trophies and medals. He praised the Pakistan Karate Federation for its efforts in developing the sport and giving young athletes a platform to showcase their skills.
