PESHAWAR: The Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, held a productive meeting with the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to review and discuss the progress of the University’s ongoing Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) project.
During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor provided a detailed briefing on the current status of the PSDP-funded initiatives and updated the Chairman on the submission of the revised PC-1 document, which outlines the revised scope and future development plans of the university. Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah highlighted the strategic importance of the project for improving higher education infrastructure in the remote region of Chitral and emphasized the need for continued support to ensure its timely completion.
The Chairman HEC appreciated the University’s efforts in promoting access to quality education in underserved areas and assured his full support for the development, expansion, and future academic needs of the University of Chitral. He reaffirmed HEC’s commitment to promoting equitable higher education opportunities across the country, especially in geographically challenging regions like Chitral.
In addition to this high-level meeting, the Vice Chancellor also held a separate session with the Executive Director of HEC and the Planning & Development (P&D) team. These discussions focused on the technical and financial aspects of the PSDP project, including the alignment of project milestones with HEC’s planning frameworks and national educational priorities.
These engagements reflect a stronger collaboration between the University of Chitral and HEC, aimed at enhancing institutional capacity, infrastructure, and academic excellence. The Vice Chancellor expressed optimism that the outcomes of these meetings will accelerate the University’s development and provide improved facilities and academic resources for students and faculty alike.
