PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur revealed that the province has received only Rs65 billion in the past 76 years. However, he expressed optimism, stating that the government is working to increase this year’s budget to Rs129 billion.
During a briefing, Gandapur disclosed that Rs150 billion are currently lying unused in the province’s accounts. Additionally, he mentioned that Rs60 million are deposited annually into a loan endowment fund.
Highlighting fiscal improvements, the chief minister said the KP government has repaid Rs53 billion in debt over the last 15 months. He also assured citizens that the province has enough wheat stocks to meet demand.
Gandapur further stated that KP is set to receive double the usual funds in the upcoming budget, signaling stronger financial prospects for the province.

While adressing opposition leader of the KP Assembly, Ibadullah, has said that when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was formed in 2013, KP had a debt of only Rs 150 billion, which has now increased to Rs 850 billion.
