PESHAWAR: Young Doctors Bannu protested against the lack of facilities in government hospitals and suspended all services except emergency.
They said that if the government not take notice of pending issues in the hospital, then they would be compelled to extend their strike to other sections of the hospital. The protesting doctors on this occasion said that the hospital lacks basic facilities like a laboratory, CT scan and other basic amenities, which forced the patients to visit other parts of the province.
Young Doctors Association President Hakimzada Wazir and others criticised the administration of Khalifa Gulnaz Hospital Bannu and said that only emergency facilities are available in the hospital, while other departments are completely inactive, due to which patients are facing severe difficulties.
They said that Khalif Gul Nawaz Hospital does not have two cath labs, CT scan, an MRI, laboratory facilities, there is a shortage of specialist doctors in the ICU, there is no anaesthesia specialist, and there is a shortage of beds, while the hospital building is still incomplete.
Young Doctors have demanded that the government provide basic medical facilities immediately, keeping in mind the problems of the people; otherwise, the scope of the protest will be expanded.
