LOWER DIR: Two people were killed and three others injured today, on Saturday, in a hand grenade explosion at a junkyard in the Khal Market area of Lower Dir.
Police said the blast occurred when a grenade, apparently concealed among scrap materials, went off unexpectedly.
The explosion killed the shop owner and one of his workers.
Rescue officials confirmed that three passersby were injured and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, local authorities sealed off the area and launched an investigation to determine how the grenade ended up in the junkyard.
