ISLAMABAD: Amid reports of a possible move to topple the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government following the reserved seats decision, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reached out to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for support, sources revealed.
PTI reportedly requested Maulana Fazlur Rehman not to destabilize the KP government. However, the JUI-F leader expressed no interest in such efforts, stating that the current assemblies—including KP—lack a genuine public mandate.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that his party has no intention of joining any federal or provincial government. Instead, he called for “fair, transparent, and impartial” new elections to resolve the political crisis.
Responding to PTI’s concerns, the JUI-F chief criticized the deteriorating law and order, corruption, and poor governance in KP, advising PTI to “make wise decisions” after assessing the province’s situation.
