PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP witnessed hundreds of terrorism-related incidents, including bomb blasts, kidnappings, and targeted killings, in the first six months of 2025, according to a police report released on Monday.
The report, covering January 1 to July 1, revealed that 756 terrorism cases were registered across the province. These included 94 extortion cases, 41 targeted killings, and 38 kidnappings. Security forces also recorded 80 IED explosions, five suicide attacks, 12 missile strikes, and 35 grenade attacks.
Additionally, law enforcement agencies faced 269 firing incidents, while 44 cases were filed against individuals accused of aiding terrorists, and 13 for financing militant activities.
The alarming statistics highlight the worsening security situation in KP, calling for urgent action from security authorities.
