PESHAWAR: Junaid Akbar, President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP, has dismissed opponents’ claims that 35 PTI members are ready to defect, challenging them to “break even three.”
Speaking to private TV, Akbar dared the KP government and rival parties to prove their claims, stating, “They talk about 35 members, but I challenge them—they can’t even break three.” He asserted that KP has always been PTI’s stronghold and remains so.
On negotiations, Akbar said PTI has always been open to talks. “Politics is about negotiations—we were ready before, are ready today, and will be in the future,” he said. However, he warned against futile talks, adding, “Negotiations shouldn’t be pointless or with those who have no power.”
