Dr. Ibadullah Slams KP minister’s helicopter tour as ‘insult to Swat victims’

Senate Deal Aimed to Stop Horse-Trading, Says Opposition Leader

PESHAWAR – Dr. Ibadullah, Opposition Leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, has strongly criticized Information Advisor Barrister Saif’s recent helicopter visit to Swat, calling it “rubbing salt in the wounds of victims” of the recent tragedy.

In a sharp statement, Dr. Ibadullah said that when Swat was facing a crisis, no helicopters were provided to rescue people in danger. “Now, ministers are using helicopters for photo sessions instead of relief work,” he said, calling the move insensitive.

He accused the government of ignoring grieving families while focusing on publicity. “Aerial tours won’t heal the pain of those who lost loved ones,” he said. “This helicopter is serving power, not the people.”

Demanding real action, Dr. Ibadullah said the government failed Swat during the tragedy and is now busy with “show-off politics.” He urged authorities to prioritize victims’ needs over photo ops.

The opposition’s backlash highlights growing frustration over the KP government’s disaster response as Swat struggles to recover.
