BANNU: The Bannu police have launched a crackdown against individuals who display weapons on social media, arresting two suspects in separate operations.
According to police officials, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kaki Khamid Khan Police Station took swift action and detained the accused.
The first suspect, Tahseenullah, son of Aziz Khan, a resident of Shab Khojri, was arrested after a video of him with a Kalashnikov went viral on social media. Police recovered the weapon from his possession.
In another operation, Abdul Wahab, son of Omar Ali, from Shahbaz Kaki, was arrested, and a pistol was seized from him.
Cases have been registered against both individuals, and further investigations are underway.
District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Saleem Abbas Kalachi, stated, “Bannu Police’s message is clear: no one is above the law. Those using social media to spread fear by flaunting weapons will face strict action.”
