PPP’s Politics is rooted in Public welfare and national progress: Humayun Khan

PPP files petition with NAB against KP govt in Kohistan financial scandal

PESHAWAR: Pakistan People Party (PPP) Secretary General Muhammad Humayun Khan has reaffirmed his party’s unwavering commitment to the service of Pakistan and its people, saying that the PPP’s politics has always revolved around the principles of public welfare, democratic values, and national development, rather than personal or political gain.

Speaking to the media, Humayun Khan stated that the core ideology of the PPP is centred on the betterment of the people and tackling the real issues faced by the common citizen. “The Pakistan Peoples Party has always believed that politics is a means to serve the nation, not an avenue for personal enrichment,” he said.

He mentioned that from its inception, the PPP has consistently championed democratic rights, fought for justice, and raised its voice for the underprivileged segments of society. “Whether it was the restoration of democracy, protection of constitutional rights, or safeguarding the interests of labourers, farmers, and minorities, PPP has always stood at the forefront.”

Humayun Khan also highlighted the sacrifices made by party leadership and workers over the decades, recalling that PPP leaders endured imprisonment, faced persecution, and even embraced martyrdom, yet never compromised on the party’s core principles. “Our leadership has paid the highest price for standing with the truth, but we have never wavered in our commitment to democracy and public service,” he said.

According to him, the PPP’s vision goes beyond electoral victories. “We measure our success by how much we can improve the lives of ordinary Pakistanis,” he added, pointing to the party’s efforts in areas such as education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, poverty alleviation, and labour rights during its various tenures in government.

Humayun Khan also criticised the current political culture, which he said has become increasingly self-serving and disconnected from public needs. “In these challenging times, Pakistan needs leadership that is grounded in principle and driven by compassion—and the PPP has a proven legacy of both,” he said.

He concluded by reaffirming the party’s resolve to continue its struggle for a just, inclusive, and democratic Pakistan. “The PPP’s mission will not stop until every citizen enjoys equal rights, access to opportunity, and the dignity they deserve. Our politics is for the people—always has been, always will be for the people of this country.
