Civil society strongly protested against the alleged rape and murder of 13-year-old domestic worker Iqra in Abbottabad.
The protest rally started from the Cantt Chowk police station and ended outside the Press Club, where the protesters demanded the immediate hanging of the accused Haris and provision of justice.
Lawyers, the business community, journalists and other citizens participated in the rally in large numbers.
The protesters demanded a transparent and speedy investigation from the police to ensure the provision of justice.
According to Abbottabad police, the body of the victim was brought to the hospital last night, where doctors found clear evidence of torture and abuse during examination.
According to the police, the accused Haris Latif, who allegedly raped and tortured Iqra and killed her, has been arrested.
