The Provincial Disaster Management Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PDMA) has dispatched more relief supplies to various districts to deal with the monsoon emergency and in view of any emergency.
In this regard, 26 trucks of non-food relief supplies were provided to the district administration of Dera Ismail Khan, which included 1000 tents, 500 tarpaulin sheets, 1000 hygiene kits, 1000 blankets, 1000 mattresses, 500 quilts, 200 life jackets, 1000 pillows, 100 searchlights, 500 mosquito nets, 10 ropes, 500 sleeping bags, 2000 sandbags, 500 jerry cans and 500 buckets.
Similarly, relief supplies were also sent to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office of Swat District, which included 200 tarpaulin sheets, 200 hygiene kits, 200 blankets, 100 mattresses, 200 plastic mats, 200 quilts, 200 pillows, 100 jerry cans, 200 sleeping bags, 100 buckets, 100 life jackets, 50 folding beds and 500 baby diapers.
These measures aim to enhance the district administration’s quick response capacity during possible heavy rains and natural disasters and provide timely assistance to the affected population.
PDMA has already provided relief supplies to all districts of the province under the Monsoon Contingency Plan so that any untoward situation can be dealt with promptly. The public has been asked to contact PDMA’s helpline 1700 in any emergency or refer to the organisation’s official website and social media pages for verified information.
