DG ISPR blamed India for using terrorism narratives as state policy against Pakistan

PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry accused India of manipulating terrorism narratives to tarnish Islamabad’s global image.

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, alleged that New Delhi has been systematically fueling anti-Pakistan sentiment through fabricated claims and staged incidents.

Talking to Al-Jazeera during an exclusive interview, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said, India is not only directing cross-border attacks but is also orchestrating a broader information campaign aimed at portraying Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism. He claimed that Indian military and intelligence services are actively involved in backing terror plots within Pakistan’s borders, using drones, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and cross-border funding networks.

In support of these claims, Pakistani authorities presented a series of evidentiary items, including intercepted audio communications, the recovery of an Indian-made drone, and confessions from detained suspects. Forensic analysis, according to Pakistani officials, links these operations directly to active Indian military personnel.

The accusations come in response to India’s recent blame on Pakistan for an attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which resulted in multiple civilian casualties. Pakistani officials have demanded that India submit any proof of Islamabad’s involvement to an impartial international body for transparent verification.

Islamabad has dismissed the allegations as baseless, framing them as part of a broader campaign by India to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and justify aggressive regional policies. The Pakistani military insists that these narratives are designed more for international perception than actual counterterrorism concerns.

The tensions have heightened concerns in the region, with observers calling for restraint and independent verification to prevent further escalation.
