Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone by receiving $38.3 billion in remittances from overseas Pakistanis during the fiscal year 2025, the highest level in the country’s history.
This remittance is $8 billion (26.6%) more than the $30.3 billion received in the fiscal year 2024.
According to officials, this significant increase in remittances is being attributed to the confidence of overseas Pakistanis, improved economic policies and the effective strategy of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s economic team.
Economic experts say that such large-scale remittances not only strengthen foreign exchange reserves but are also a sign of improvement, stability and global confidence in Pakistan’s economy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed his satisfaction as foreign remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis crossed the $4 billion mark in a single month for the first time in the country’s history, calling it a reflection of their trust in the government’s policies.
In a statement, the prime minister thanked Pakistani expatriates for sending a record $4.1 billion in March this year, pushing the total foreign remittances for the current fiscal year to $28 billion.
He noted a 37.4% increase in remittances compared to March last year.
The prime minister said the announcement of this historic surge during the ongoing Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad highlighted the dedication, commitment, and confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the country’s economy and the government’s direction.
Calling them a valuable asset, Shehbaz Sharif said that overseas Pakistanis not only make the nation proud through their hard work abroad but also play a crucial role in strengthening the national economy.
He added that the entire nation takes pride in its hardworking citizens abroad, and the government is fully committed to providing them with all necessary support and facilities.
