Emergency Polio campaigns for KP’s high-risk areas launch July 14

KP reports another Polio case—total reaches six in 2025

PESHAWAR: A special 5-day anti-polio campaign will run in high-risk areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan from July 14 to 18. Health teams aim to vaccinate over 158,000 children during this drive.

The campaign targets remote districts including Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, Kolai Pals, and Diamer, where polio virus risks remain high. According to the National Emergency Operation Center (EOC), health workers will focus on vulnerable communities using tailored strategies to block virus transmission.

Officials urgently appealed to parents:

– Ensure children receive polio drops every time campaigns occur

– Complete the full vaccination schedule

“Polio vaccines are safe and protect children from lifelong paralysis,” health authorities emphasized.
