ABBOTTABAD: In the largest anti-drug operation ever recorded in the Hazara region, Abbottabad Excise Police intercepted a massive drug shipment near Jhari Kis Interchange on Friday.
Acting on intelligence, officers led by Excise and Taxation Officer Masoodul Haq (Counter Narcotics Operations) and Circle Officer Irshadullah Afridi (Director Hazara Region) conducted a search operation. The search, supervised by Excise Police Station SHO Faisal Khan and Additional SHO Naseem Khan, targeted a vehicle bearing registration number AMU 13.
During the search, officers discovered and seized a staggering 336,000 grams (336 kilograms) of hashish hidden within the vehicle. The seizure successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle the illicit drugs.
A case has been registered at the Excise Police Station Abbottabad, and further investigation is underway to identify the source and intended destination of the drugs, as well as apprehend those involved.
This operation is part of a broader provincial crackdown on drug traffickers, dealers, and facilitators. The campaign is being conducted under the directives of Excise Secretary Khalid Ilyas and Director General Abdul Halim Khan, with overall leadership from Director Narcotics Control Imaduddin.
