HANGU: Hangu’s major security operation against the terrorist group Fitna-ul-Khawarij entered its third day on Thursday, now strengthened by support from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps.
Under orders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Chief Zulfiqar Hameed and DIG Kohat Region Abbas Majeed Marwat, the intelligence-driven mission targets known hideouts in Thana Doaba’s difficult terrain – including Naryab Dam, Chapri Naryab, Shanaori, and Zargiri. District Police Officer Muhammad Khalid Khan is overseeing the operation.
On Day 3, SP Operations Asad Zubair Khan led forces alongside FC Major Saad and Army Major Wasif. Teams included Hangu Police, Elite Force, Rapid Response, Bomb Disposal, and DSB units. They conducted thorough sweeps using thermal scanners, drone cameras, EPC trackers, and heavy weaponry.
Officials reported exceptional discipline and professionalism from all personnel. The operation has successfully disrupted terrorist plans, boosted public confidence, and demonstrated security forces’ resolve. Hangu Police reaffirmed their commitment to treating counter-terrorism as a “sacred national duty” and ensuring citizen safety at all costs.
