State institutions should not play political roles, says Gandapur

PTI united, warns against toppling KP govt: Barrister Gohar, Ali Amin

LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) new protest movement a “do-or-die” campaign, asserting that the party’s future hinges on the outcome of this effort.

“This movement will reach its peak within 90 days. We will make a decisive move, it’s do or die. The matter is now in the hands of the decision-makers,” Gandapur declared during a press conference in Lahore, joined by senior party leaders including Salman Akram Raja.

He reiterated that despite facing severe injustices, PTI founder Imran Khan remains open to negotiations in the interest of the country. “Imran Khan has made it clear that, despite the treatment meted out to him and his wife, he is still ready to talk, for Pakistan’s sake,” he said.

Criticizing the overreach of state institutions, Gandapur stressed that their role is not to install or topple governments. “This is beyond their constitutional mandate. The people are now awake, and the February 8 elections proved that.”

He said the cases against Imran Khan lacked substance, which is why they are not being seriously pursued. “No other political party in history has faced the kind of oppression PTI has endured,” he added.

The CM also slammed the arrest of Imran Khan’s wife, calling it unwarranted and politically motivated. He said rival parties have failed to gain public support and depend on external forces for political survival. “If I’ve betrayed Pakistan, then prove it, and hang me in the public square,” he challenged.

Highlighting the vision of PTI’s founder, Gandapur said the party’s struggle is not just for politics but for future generations. “The 90 days of change that Imran Khan always spoke of, they start now.”

He announced PTI’s intention to seek official permission for a peaceful rally in Lahore. “We came peacefully and will leave peacefully,” he assured.

Responding to allegations of secret meetings, Gandapur admitted, “Yes, I’ve met with everyone, for the sake of Pakistan. My leader and his wife are in jail. This is not just their battle; it’s Pakistan’s.”
