A person was killed and two others were injured when an improvised explosive device exploded, planted by terrorists near the Bukhmal Ahmadzai area of Lakki Marwat.
The explosion targeted a vehicle, causing severe damage to the vehicle. According to initial reports, the target of the explosion was the vehicle of local social figure Inamullah. However, Inamullah fortunately escaped unhurt while his companions were injured.
The injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Lakki Marwat. After the incident, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
On the other hand, terrorists set up a roadblock at the limits of Miryan police station in Bannu, tortured a citizen and forcibly snatched his vehicle.
According to sources, this area has been the centre of clashes with terrorism and law enforcement agencies in the past as well.
According to police officials, security has been tightened in the area, and operations are underway to search for the terrorists.

In a large-scale search and strike operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and local police forces killed three militants, provincial law enforcement officials confirmed on Sunday evening.
Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, said the operation was launched based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in the Khan Khel Mandzai forest, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Tajori and Bargai police stations.
The joint operation was led by District Police Officer (DPO) Jawad Ishaq, with support from the CTD, Quick Response Force, and local police units.
At around 10:45 AM, a fierce gun battle broke out between the militants and security personnel, lasting nearly two hours. The police exchanged heavy gunfire with the terrorists and managed to neutralize three of them without sustaining any casualties. Several other militants were reportedly injured and fled the scene.
DPO Ishaq credited the success of the operation to the cooperation of local residents and peace committee members. “The courage and support of the people have greatly boosted police morale,” he said.
IG Hameed praised the bravery and professionalism of the Lakki Marwat police, announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates for the personnel involved.
He also stressed that anti-terror operations are ongoing across the province. “The police in Lakki Marwat are responding effectively to these cowardly acts of terrorism,” he stated, adding that search efforts are continuing to track down the fleeing militants.
