Sui Gas employee murdered in cold-blooded attack in Bannu

BANNUE: An employee of the Sui Gas Department was robbed, shot and killed by slitting his throat in the limits of Mirakhel police station in Bannu district last night.

SHO of Cantt Police Station Damsaz Khan, who was on leave, reached the spot along with his brother and arrested both the accused and handed them over to the local police. The sharp-edged weapon and pistol used in the incident were seized and handed over for further investigation.

Jasim Khan, son of Nawab Ali, a resident of Nasr Khel, Lakki Marwat, a Sui Gas Department employee, was shot during a snatching incident, and then his throat was slit with a sharp-edged knife and brutally killed. SHO Cantt Damsaz Khan, who was on leave at the time of the incident, was present at his house and heard the sound of firing. He immediately saw two people slitting the throat of the victim using a thermal scope.

SHO Cantt Police Station Damsaz Khan, along with his brother, immediately reached the spot and arrested both the accused on the spot. A 30 bore pistol, the knife used in the incident, the victim’s mobile phone and wallet were recovered from the possession of the accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Hassan, son of Ghulam Nawaz and Saad Latif, son of Muhammad Latif, who belong to Bannu. The accused have been handed over to the local police for further legal action.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Sajjad Khan, while giving special praise to SHO Cantt Bannu Damsaz Khan for his duty, commitment and risking his life to arrest the accused of snatching and murder even on his holiday, has announced a cash reward and commendation certificates for him and has said that such police officers and youths are valuable assets of the police force who prioritize the performance of their duties above everything else.

He said that they are working to eliminate street crimes, including terrorism, and such elements will be eradicated from society.
