NAB summons Azami Swati, Amjad Ali in corruption cases

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has summoned former senator and federal minister, Azam Khan Swati and special assistant to the chief minister KP in the alleged illegal withdrawal and misappropriation of government funds case. The NAB directed him to appear in person before the combined investigation team in Peshawar on July 17.

The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also summoned Mr Amjad Ali, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Swat PK-7, in an inquiry under section 18(C) of the NA, 1999, against him for the accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income and corruption practices.

According to the notices issued by NAB, former Senator Azam Swati has been issued a notice in connection with the Kohistan financial scandal. He has been summoned to the NAB Peshawar office on July 17 at 11 am.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Housing, Amjad Ali, has been summoned on charges of assets beyond his means.

According to the NAB notice, he has also been summoned to the NAB Peshawar office on July 17, 2025, and he has been asked to provide details of his assets, including answers to a questionnaire and details of his income tax returns.

According to the summons, which copies are available with Pakhtun Digital, in the Azam Swati case, it stated that the documents and revenue record submitted by you during your last appearance have been analysed and found deficient.
Mr Swat has been asked to appear before the CIT-I of this bureau in Peshawar to clarify the anomalies found in the said record.

To Amjad Ali, the agency is directed to provide true and legible copies of under mentioned information and records to CIT-II for examination.
It asked him for the provision of a duly filled assets declaration form, replies to the questionnaire and yearly assets declaration forms and income tax returns since 2013.
