PTI imprisoned leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid facing health complications, shifted to Services Hospital Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid fell ill, after which she was immediately shifted from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Services Hospital.

According to private TV channel Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s lawyer Rana Mudassar, his client was facing difficulty in breathing, severe pain in the stomach and abdomen, after which the jail authorities shifted her to the hospital for medical assistance.

According to the administration of Services Hospital, Dr. Yasmin Rashid was brought to the hospital due to difficulty in breathing, rapid heartbeat and high blood pressure. Initial examination also revealed complaints of burning and pain in the stomach.

Hospital sources say that various medical tests are being conducted; however, at present, Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s condition is out of danger, and her treatment is ongoing.

It should be remembered that Dr. Yasmin Rashid has been imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail on a court order since the events of May 9. Concerns have been expressed about her health before, which human rights organisations and the party leadership have repeatedly demanded better treatment for her. PTI leaders have expressed concern over Yasmin Rashid’s health and demanded that the government provide her with immediate and complete medical facilities.
